I am happy to announce the eighth annual Short Story Contest. The first seven years were full of surprises, and great stories. Volume 3, 4 & 5 were distributed to over 1,000 Texas Libraries for FREE as part of the DEAR Texas Literacy Program that supports Title 1 schools and libraries.  Due to COVID19 volumes 6, 7, & 8 were not able to be distributed through normal channels.  We are eager to get them out in 2024 when possible.

This exciting annual contest is open to any Texas Authors and we have an additional contest for Indie Authors from around the world that has a short story to tell. Great prizes are given to the top three winners of each genre, including printed copies of the anthology, memberships, and cash prizes.

A NEW edition to this year's contest is a quarterly finalist contest.  Each quarter has a specific genre theme you can enter for additional credit and bragging rights.  Jan - March is Non-Fiction, April - June is Children's, July - Sept. is Fiction, Oct - Dec is Middle School & YA short stories.

Short Stories by Texas Authors is an annual contest to find the best Texas Authors while raising money for literacy programs. This is one of the many brain storms from B. Alan Bourgeois the director and founder of Texas Authors, Inc., a not for profit organization designed to help support and market Texas Authors.
